TRAQ Golf Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 6, 2026
Last Updated: October 6, 2026
Supersedes: Privacy Policy effective July 1, 2025
Aethon Sports LLC, doing business as TRAQ Golf ("TRAQ," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at traqgolf.com, sells physical training products, and publishes the TRAQ Play mobile application. This policy explains what personal information we collect across all three, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
If you only shop with us, Sections 3, 5, 6, and 8 through 16 apply to you. If you use the TRAQ Play app, all sections apply.
Launch availability. TRAQ PLAY is offered only in the United States at launch, for users aged 13 and older. All PLAY features are free at launch. This app availability limit does not restrict who may visit our website or remove privacy rights that apply to our handling of someone’s information. Physical-product shipping has separate restrictions stated in our Terms of Service.

2. Who We Are and How to Reach Us
Controller: Aethon Sports LLC, d.b.a. TRAQ Golf
Email: info@traqgolf.com
Mailing address: P.O. Box 1021, Manhattan Beach, CA 90267, United States
For privacy requests specifically, write to info@traqgolf.com with "Privacy Request" in the subject line.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Website and Browsing Data
When you visit traqgolf.com we collect your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, time zone, referring page, pages viewed, and the time spent on them. This comes from cookies and similar technologies described in Section 4.
3.2 Shop and Order Information
When you buy from us we collect your name, email address, shipping address, billing address, phone number, and the contents of your order.
We accept payment through Wix Payments and PayPal, depending on the method you choose at checkout. Those processors handle credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and PayPal balances directly. Payment details are entered with the processor and are processed by them, not stored on our systems. We receive confirmation of payment, the payment method used, and the last four digits and brand of the card where one was used.
Wix Payments and PayPal each maintain their own privacy policies governing the payment data you give them, and we encourage you to read them.
3.3 TRAQ Play Account Information
Creating a TRAQ Play account requires you to sign in through one of our identity providers:
-
Microsoft Entra External ID — our account system, which stores your email address and name
-
Google Sign-In — if you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and Google account identifier
We do not receive or store your Google or Microsoft password.
During onboarding and in profile settings you may also provide:
-
A display name, which is how other players see you
-
A phone number
-
A handicap index
-
A profile photo, which we store on our servers
-
A GHIN number or externally issued handicap index, if you enter one for tournament play
3.4 Gameplay Data
TRAQ Play exists to record rounds of golf, so the app collects and stores:
-
Rounds you play, including date, course, tee, and holes played
-
Hole-by-hole scores, putts, and any other stroke detail you enter
-
The games and formats you play, such as match play, Nassau, skins, Wolf, or Hi-Lo
-
Your playing partners and group composition for each round
-
Match and side-bet configuration, including stake amounts, presses, and results (see Section 7)
-
Handicap indexes and per-round handicap allocations
-
Tournament entries, fields, and standings
-
Statistics derived from the above, such as scoring averages and trends
3.5 Location
TRAQ Play requests permission to use your location while you are using the app. We use it to find golf courses near you and to support in-round features. Location accuracy is increased while a round is in progress and reduced at other times.
The app does not collect your location in the background or while it is closed. You can deny or revoke location permission in iOS Settings at any time; course search will then require you to type a course or city name.
3.6 Health and Fitness Data (Apple Health)
If you grant permission, TRAQ Play reads the following from Apple Health for the duration of a round, so we can show you how active you were:
-
Step count
-
Walking and running distance
-
Active energy burned
If you grant permission, TRAQ Play also writes a golf workout to Apple Health when you finish a round, so your round appears alongside your other activity.
Health data is only accessed with your explicit permission, granted separately from any other permission in the app. You can revoke it at any time in the Health app under Sources. See Section 9 for the specific commitments we make about health data.
3.7 Notifications and Real-Time Features
If you enable notifications, we collect and store an Apple Push Notification service device token so we can send you alerts about round invitations, partner requests, scoring updates, and tournament activity. Notification content may include the names and scores of players you are playing with.
TRAQ Play also maintains a live connection to our servers during a round so scores entered by your playing partners appear on your device as they happen.
You can turn notifications off in iOS Settings or in the app's settings.
3.8 Diagnostics and Crash Reporting
We collect crash reports, error events, and performance diagnostics from the app so we can find and fix defects. These reports include the device model, operating system version, app version, the state of the app when the problem occurred, and an internal account identifier so we can tell whether a crash affected one person or thousands.
We have configured our diagnostics tooling not to attach personally identifying information such as your name, email address, or IP address to these reports.
3.9 Communications
If you contact us by email, we keep your message and our reply. If you opt in to marketing email, we keep your email address, subscription status, and engagement with those emails until you unsubscribe.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies on traqgolf.com for the following purposes:
-
Strictly necessary — cart contents, checkout, session security. These cannot be turned off.
-
Analytics — understanding which pages are visited and how people move through the site.
-
Marketing — measuring the performance of campaigns and, where applicable, showing you relevant ads.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break checkout.
Our website runs on Wix, which sets strictly necessary cookies for your cart and checkout and analytics cookies that tell us which pages are visited.
We also use the Klaviyo integration for Wix. Klaviyo sets a cookie that links your browsing on traqgolf.com, including pages viewed, products looked at, and items added to your cart, to your email profile if you have given us your email address. We use this to send you email you have opted into, such as a reminder about a cart you left behind. Klaviyo processes this under contract as our service provider and is not permitted to use it for its own purposes or for advertising by anyone else.
If you do not want this, do not give us your email address, decline non-essential cookies where we offer the choice, or unsubscribe, which stops the association being used.
We do not run advertising or retargeting pixels on traqgolf.com.
The TRAQ Play mobile app does not use cookies and does not contain advertising or third-party advertising SDKs.
5. How We Use Your Information
For orders and products:
-
Process, fulfill, and ship your order
-
Communicate with you about your order, delivery, or return
-
Handle returns, refunds, and warranty questions
For the TRAQ Play app:

-
Show you and your playing partners live scoring during a round
-
Find golf courses near you
-
Show your round activity, and write your round to Apple Health, when you allow it
-
Send you notifications you have enabled
For both:
-
Improve our products, website, and app
-
Diagnose and fix defects, crashes, and performance problems
-
Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our terms
-
Send marketing email, only if you have opted in
-
Produce aggregate, de-identified statistics about how our products are used
-
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not use TRAQ Play data for advertising of any kind.
6. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA and UK Users)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on these bases:
-
Fulfilling your order — performance of a contract
-
Operating your TRAQ Play account and recording your rounds — performance of a contract
-
Location, health data, and push notifications — your consent, which you may withdraw at any time
-
Diagnostics, fraud prevention, and product improvement — our legitimate interests
-
Marketing email — your consent
-
Tax, accounting, and legal record keeping — legal obligation
Scope note. TRAQ PLAY is offered only in the United States at launch. Our website may be visited from other locations. The EEA and UK provisions in this policy apply to processing to which the relevant law applies, including applicable website interactions or information previously collected. App availability and physical-product shipping restrictions do not remove those rights.
Health data. Health and fitness data is special category data under Article 9. We process it only on the basis of your explicit consent, given through the Apple Health permission prompt, and you may withdraw that consent at any time in the Health app without losing access to the rest of TRAQ Play.
7. What Other Players Can See
TRAQ Play is a multiplayer app. Some of your information is visible to other people by design, and you should understand exactly what before you use it.
Discoverability. Other TRAQ Play users can find you by searching your name, email address, or phone number, and send you a playing-partner request. If you do not want to be found by email or phone, do not add them to your profile; a display name alone is enough to use the app.
Visible to your playing partners. When you play a round with someone, they can see your display name, profile photo, handicap index, hole-by-hole scores, running totals, and your standing in any game or match you agreed to play.
Tournament leaderboards. If you enter a tournament, your display name, profile photo, handicap index, and scores are visible to participants through the tournament leaderboard as described in the app. A public leaderboard link can also be shared. Anyone with that link can view player names and scores without a TRAQ account and can forward the link. Public access is not limited to the tournament field. Review the tournament’s sharing arrangements before participating, particularly for a player under 18.
Shared round records. A round you play with other people is a shared record. Your scores are part of their scorecard and their history, and vice versa. This affects deletion — see Section 11.
Not visible to other players. Your email address and phone number are not displayed on your profile, in leaderboards, or in round history. They are used for search matching and account contact only.
8. Match Stakes and Wagering
TRAQ PLAY records match stakes, presses, and side bets entered by players and calculates match results, including amounts between players. TRAQ does not hold, process, transfer, or settle match money. Any exchange of money occurs outside the app between the participants. These records can relate to real financial arrangements between players; describing TRAQ’s role does not establish that every arrangement is lawful. Eligibility and permitted use are addressed in the Terms of Service.
-
We do not share match stake information with anyone outside the players in that round.
-
We do not sell, license, or monetize this data.
9. Health Data Commitments
Health and fitness data receives specific protections, and we commit to the following without qualification:
-
We use health data only to show you your own activity during a round and to write your round to Apple Health as a workout.
-
We never use health data for advertising, marketing, or any use-based data mining.
-
We never sell health data, and we never disclose it to data brokers or advertising networks.
-
We do not share health data with third parties except as required to operate the app for you, and no such sharing exists today.
-
Health data read from Apple Health is used on your device and in your own round summary. You can revoke access at any time in the Health app.
10. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We share personal information with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, and only for the purposes we specify:
-
Microsoft (Azure and Entra External ID) — account identity, TRAQ Play data, and profile photos, for authentication, application hosting, and data storage in the United States
-
Google — name, email address, and account identifier, for optional "Sign in with Google"
-
Apple — push notification tokens and payloads, and weather data requests, for delivering notifications and showing in-app weather
-
Sentry — crash and error diagnostics with an internal account identifier, for finding and fixing defects, in the United States
-
Wix — website hosting, order records, payment processing through Wix Payments, and transactional and marketing email, for running our store and communicating with you
-
PayPal — payment details and billing information, for processing your order when you pay with PayPal
-
Shipping carriers, including USPS, UPS, and FedEx — name, shipping address, and phone number, for delivering your order
-
Klaviyo — email address, name, subscription status, order history, and email engagement, for sending marketing email you opted into
We also disclose information to other players and, for public tournament leaderboard links, to people who can access those links, as described in Section 7.
We may disclose information when required by law, in response to valid legal process, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. If ownership changes, we will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
11. Data Retention and Deleting Your Account
Orders. We keep order records for as long as needed to fulfill the order, handle returns and warranty claims, and satisfy tax and accounting obligations, typically seven years.
TRAQ Play accounts. We keep your account and round history for as long as your account is open.
Deleting your account. You can delete your TRAQ Play account from within the app, under More → Settings. Deletion removes your profile, your identity records, and your personal data from our systems.
What deletion cannot remove. Rounds you played with other people are shared records. Deleting your account removes your identity from those rounds, but the round itself continues to exist in your playing partners' history, because it is their record too. Scores attributable to you appear there without your name or profile attached.
Backups and diagnostics. After deletion, residual copies may remain in encrypted backups for a limited period, generally no more than 90 days, until those backups are overwritten in the normal course. Crash and error diagnostics are held on a rolling retention window of no more than 90 days and are then deleted automatically.
You may also request deletion by emailing info@traqgolf.com.
12. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:
-
Access — a copy of the personal information we hold about you
-
Correction — fixing information that is inaccurate or incomplete
-
Deletion — erasure of your personal information, subject to Section 11
-
Portability — receiving your information in a portable format
-
Opt out of marketing — unsubscribing from marketing email at any time
-
Withdraw consent — revoking location, health, or notification permission at any time in iOS Settings, without losing access to the rest of the app
-
Non-discrimination — we will not deny service, charge a different price, or provide a lower quality of service because you exercised a privacy right
California residents (CCPA/CPRA). In the twelve months preceding this policy's effective date we collected the categories of personal information described in Section 3: identifiers, customer records, commercial information, internet activity, geolocation data, health and fitness data, and inferences drawn from gameplay. We collect them for the purposes in Section 5 and disclose them to the providers in Section 10. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Our contracted service providers described in Section 10, including Klaviyo, process information under the applicable service-provider restrictions. Other players and public-link viewers are recipients of shared gameplay information, not our contracted service providers. Their access is described in Section 7. The Klaviyo browsing cookie described in Section 4 supports our own email to you and nothing beyond that.
We honor the Global Privacy Control signal on traqgolf.com as an opt-out request. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
EEA and UK residents. In addition to the rights above, you may object to or request restriction of processing based on legitimate interests, and you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any right, email info@traqgolf.com. We will verify your identity, usually by confirming control of the email address on your account, and respond within 45 days for California requests or 30 days for GDPR requests. We may extend once where the request is complex, and we will tell you if we do.
13. Children's Privacy
TRAQ Play and traqgolf.com are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email info@traqgolf.com and we will delete it.
Our physical products are aerosol training aids sold to adults. You must be 18 or older to purchase from us, as set out in our Terms of Service.
You must be at least 13 to use TRAQ PLAY. At launch, PLAY is offered only in the United States. If you are under 18, review this policy and the Terms of Service with a parent or guardian and use PLAY only with their permission. Pay particular attention to Section 7 about player discovery, shared rounds, and public tournament leaderboard links. A parent or guardian may contact info@traqgolf.com about access to, correction of, or deletion of a minor’s information, subject to appropriate verification and applicable law.
14. Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit, encrypted storage, access controls limiting who on our team can reach production data, and authentication handled by Microsoft's identity platform rather than passwords we store ourselves.
No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and any required authority as the law requires.
15. International Data Transfers
Our servers are located in the United States. If you access our website or app from outside the United States, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.
For EEA and UK users of TRAQ Play, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, and the processors listed in Section 10 are contracted on that basis.
16. Third-Party Links and Services
Our website and app contain links to third-party sites and services we do not control, including golf course websites and our social media profiles. This policy does not cover their practices, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
17. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page with a new effective date. If the changes materially affect how we handle your personal information, we will notify you by email or through the app before the changes take effect.
